Ma Fauci non ha risposto a nessuna delle domande fatte sulla pandemia da Covid 19, epoca in cui era il principale membro della task force per la risposta all'emergenza. L'ex direttore del NIAID ha invece invocato il Quinto Emendamento, il diritto a non autoincriminarsi. Una mossa però contestata dai senatori repubblicani che lo hanno ascoltato.
