US President Trump Holds Ukraine-Russia Ceasefire Talks With UK PM Starmer, Says Now Or NeverUS President Donald Trump hosted UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the White House on Thursday. He called the relationship between the two nations "very special." In response, the UK Prime Minister also called Trump a "true friend." Both leaders held discussions on a ceasefire deal between Russia and Ukraine. Trump said the truce would either take place very soon or not at all. He also dismissed his earlier remark calling Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky a dictator and said he truly respected him. He made this comment just a day before Zelensky is set to meet him in Washington, where they will both sign the minerals deal. Starmer also pushed for Ukraine's security guarantees, but Trump remained non-committal on this issue and said the priority was to achieve a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia. The UK Prime Minister still stressed that the peace deal should not reward the aggressor. He later handed over King Charles III’s invitation to Trump for a second state visit to the United Kingdom.
