Gleichzeitig warnen Politiker und Opferverbände vor einer Verharmlosung beziehungsweise Verklärung der DDR und des SED-Regimes. Im Mittelpunkt steht dabei auch die politische Auseinandersetzung darüber, wie die Geschichte der deutschen Teilung heute vermittelt und erinnert werden soll.
