Как корабль, построенный лучшими умами своего времени и названный «непотопляемым», мог затонуть всего за два часа сорок минут? Возможно, разгадка кроется в заклёпках «Титаника» — и я говорю это буквально. Всё началось с ужина в Лондоне в 1907 году. Смелая идея. Соперничество. И гонка за создание самого большого, быстрого и роскошного океанского лайнера, какого мир ещё не видел. Пятнадцать тысяч человек работали круглые сутки. В результате появился плавучий дворец — с бассейном с подогревом, турецкими банями и каютой первого класса, которая в пересчёте на сегодняшние деньги стоила 75 тысяч долларов. Но по пути что-то пошло не так. Сталь оказалась хрупкой. Заклёпки — слабыми. Водонепроницаемые отсеки не были полностью герметичны. А 10 апреля 1912 года «Титаник» отправился в своё первое плавание. Четыре дня спустя он встретил свою судьбу.
