AI and the Future of Driving | Sanjeev Madhav, TCS, with Vikas Rungta – CEO & Co-Founder, Ravity.

AI in vehicles is usually discussed as a question of autonomy. For the person in the car today, the more immediate change is what the vehicle understands and when it chooses to tell you.

In this Nasscom In Conversation episode, Sanjeev Madhav, Global Head of Mobility, Industrial Autonomy and Engineering at TCS, in conversation with Vikas Rungta, CEO & Co-Founder of Ravity, explains why in-car assistants have been transactional for twenty years and what changes when context enters the system. A dashboard warning handled by an AI layer grounded in the vehicle’s own documentation can tell a driver whether the problem needs a garage now or after the journey.

He also addresses privacy and safety. Foundational models are no longer used directly in the vehicle. Purpose-built small language models restrict what data moves from the car to the cloud, and OEMs comply with defined cybersecurity and functional safety standards that give consumers a basis for trust.

For startups, he argues that generic technology needs industry-specific depth to be useful, which is what TCS brings to Fortune 1000 customers through its co-innovation network.
