Diduga penyebab rumahnya sampai kebakaran karena berhubungan dengan tulisan Rico Sempurna Pasaribu yang membahas narkoba dan judi online (judol).
Melansir Facebook Rico Sempurna Pasaribu pada Jumat, 28 Juni 2024, akun ini milik wartawan Tribrata TV tersebut.
Dalam postingan terakhirnya, Rico mengunggah artikel berita yang diunggah situs Tribrata TV.
Tulisan itu menjelaskan aksi Peringatan Hari Anti Narkotika Internasional (HANI) yang digelar masyarakat lintas agama di Kabupaten Karo pada Rabu, 26 Juni 2024.
Aksi damai yang menyerukan untuk memberantas game online ilegal dan narkoba itu disebabkan karena banyaknya masalah karena dua hal itu di Karo.
Artikel tersebut diduga menjadi penyebab pihak yang merasa tersinggung dan dirugikan membakar rumah wartawan tersebut.
PLH. Kapolres Tanah Karo AKBP Oloan Siahaan mengatakan bahwa pihak kepolisian masih melakukan penyelidikan lebih lanjut.
