Mars'ta Yaşam mı Bulundu? NASA’nın “Leopar Lekesi” Keşfi!

Perseverance, Jezero Krateri’nin Neretva Vadisi’nde geçen yıl “Cheyava Falls” adını verdiği çamurtaşında, Dünya’dakilere benzeyen “leopar lekeleri”ne benzer izler buldu. SHERLOC cihazının Raman ölçümlerinde organik karbonu işaret eden G-band sinyali görüldü; PIXL ise bu bölgelerde vivianit (Fe-fosfat) ve greigite (Fe₃S₄) saptadı. Bu kombinasyon, milyarlarca yıl önce mikrobiyel metabolizmalara imkan veren redoks süreçleriyle uyumlu. Yine de bu, “kesin yaşam kanıtı” değil; NASA bu bulguyu “potansiyel biyoimza” olarak tanımlıyor ve biyotik olmayan açıklamalar tamamen elenmiş değil. Kesin yanıt için örneklerin Dünya’ya getirilmesi gerekiyor; ancak Mars Sample Return projesinde bütçe ve takvim tartışmaları yaşanıyor. Bilim ilerlerken temkinli ve sabırlı olmak gerekiyor: olağanüstü iddialar, olağanüstü kanıt gerektirir.
