In this video, I discuss how North Korean hackers are converting their stolen ETH into BTC, rather than some "privacy coin" like Monero (XMR).
There are a number of reasons, which include relative market cap, liquidity, and censorship resistance-- all of which Bitcoin wins hands down.
Money is a winner-take-all game. Even today, every single major currency is informally or formally pegged to the USD. The world is still on a USD standard, though it is rapidly unraveling.
What happens when US corporations like (Micro)Strategy, North Korean hackers, philosopher-kings in Central America, hippies in the jungle, libertarians in New Hampshire, oligarchs in Russia and China, and everyone else continues to converge on the same money?
That's right-- you end up on a Bitcoin standard.
