Disponible jusqu'au 19/03/2029Après des années de silence, les cloches des églises sonnent de nouveau à Mossoul. Dix ans après la chute de Daech, la ville aux minarets, proclamée capitale du califat en Irak, renaît lentement de ses cendres.
Les églises Al-Tahira et Mar Toma, symboles du christianisme oriental et détruites par l’organisation État islamique, viennent de rouvrir leurs portes après une longue restauration. Dans leurs murs reconstruits, la ferveur renaît, mais la communauté reste clairsemée. La plupart des 50 000 chrétiens que comptait la ville avant 2003 ont fui vers le Kurdistan irakien et l’Occident. À travers les voix de ceux qui sont restés et de ceux qui ont choisi l’exil au Kurdistan tout proche, ce reportage interroge le sens du retour : ces églises rebâties annoncent-elles une renaissance ? Les chrétiens reviendront-ils un jour ?
