Wakil Ketua Umum Partai Gerindra Habiburokhman, mengakui partainya cukup sulit mencari kader yang hendak maju di pilkada atau posisi eksekutif.Hal ini disebabkan banyaknya kader yang sudah terjun ke lapangan untuk pemilihan legislatif. Maka saat ada rencana penugasan di eksekutif, sejumlah kader merasa enggan.
Sebagai partai pemenang ketiga Pemilu, Gerindra cukup sedikit mengajukan kadernya yang maju di Pilkada, Kader Gerindra yang digadang-gadang maju sebagai Cagub atau Cawagub di sejumlah tempat dapat dihitung jari, seperti Deddy Mulyadi di Jawa Barat atau kader baru Gerindra Bobby Nasution di Sumut.
