Der Publizist und Autor Christoph Lemmer hat sich kritisch zu politischen Forderungen nach einem Social-Media-Verbot für unter 16-Jährige geäußert. Als Vorbild wird in Deutschland häufig Australien genannt, wo ein entsprechendes Verbot eingeführt wurde. Lemmer warnt jedoch davor, das Modell vorschnell als Erfolg zu bewerten. Zwar verweise die australische Regierung darauf, dass zum Start rund viereinhalb Millionen Accounts offline gegangen seien, gleichzeitig gebe es jedoch Hinweise auf Ausweichreaktionen – etwa eine deutlich gestiegene Nutzung von VPN-Zugängen. Zudem laufe derzeit eine von der australischen Regierung beauftragte zweijährige Studie, deren erste Ergebnisse bereits Zweifel am tatsächlichen Effekt des Verbots aufkommen ließen. Auch in Deutschland sei die politische Einigkeit begrenzt: Während SPD und CDU über Einschränkungen diskutieren, lehnt die CSU ein pauschales Social-Media-Verbot ab. Lemmer sieht darüber hinaus Risiken für Datenschutz und Meinungsfreiheit, da streng kontrollierte Zugänge zur vollständigen Identifizierbarkeit von Nutzern führen könnten und damit die Anonymität im Netz verloren ginge.#weltnachrichtensender #internet #controllapps #deutschland #netizens
