Klarifikasi ini disampaikan Sofian Effendi dalam pernyataan tertulisnya pada Kamis (17/7).
Dalam keterangan tersebut, Prof Sofian menyatakan bahwa pernyataan Rektor UGM saat ini, Prof. Ova Emilia pada 11 Oktober 2022 memang sesuai dengan bukti-bukti yang tersedia di universitas.
Oleh karena itu, Prof. Sofian pun secara resmi mencabut seluruh pernyataannya dalam video yang tayang pada Rabu (16/7).
Sofian pun meminta video wawancara tersebut ditarik dari peredaran.
Lebih lanjut, Sofian juga menyampaikan permohonan maaf secara terbuka kepada semua pihak yang disebut dalam wawancara itu.
Ia berharap agar polemik ijazah Jokowi segera dihentikan.
Sebelumnya diketahui, Sofian blak-blakan membongkar terkait kuliah Jokowi di UGM.
Sofian meyakini Jokowi tidak memiliki ijazah S1 UGM lantaran skripsinya tidak pernah diujikan.
Menurutnya, transkip nilai yang dipampang oleh Bareskrim Polri beberapa waktu lalu adalah nilai saat Jokowi mengambil program Sarjana Muda.
Ia sempat mempertanyakan aspek administratif seputar ijazah Jokowi.
Namun kini melalui klarifikasinya, Sofian menegaskan kembali bahwa posisi institusional UGM soal ijazah Jokowi sah dan sesuai dengan arsip yang dimiliki universitas.
