Trump rejects iran proposal, signals war could continue without congress approval
Donald Trump says he is “not satisfied” with Iran’s latest proposal for talks, raising fresh uncertainty over the future of the conflict.Speaking at the White House, Trump confirmed negotiations are ongoing but warned that Washington’s core demands remain unchanged — including that Iran must never obtain nuclear weapons.
A potential framework under discussion includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz, ending the blockade, and cementing a ceasefire before broader negotiations begin.
Trump also dismissed calls to seek approval from Congress to continue military operations, despite growing political pressure in Washington.
While he says a deal is preferred, Trump acknowledged further military action remains “an option” if talks fail.
