How my ADHD diagnosis liberated me | Melanie Mark | TEDxWest Vancouver Women
Women and girls are significantly less likely to be diagnosed with ADHD than their male counterparts. Instead, they're labeled "difficult," "disorganized," and "dramatic"— labels that perpetuate misunderstanding and stand in the way of their success. Melanie spent three decades leading in the nonprofit sector, public service, and politics before getting her own diagnosis as an adult. She argues that naming it was liberating, not limiting. As a former cabinet minister and mother to a daughter with ADHD, she shares how the traits often dismissed as weaknesses became the foundation of her leadership, and offers practical ways to support neurodivergent women so they can thrive.HLI HAYKWHL ẂII XSGAAK, Melanie Mark is a trailblazing Nisga'a, Gitxsan, Cree and Ojibway matriarch and the first First Nations woman to be elected to the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia in 2016.
