Mantan Perdana Menteri Malaysia Mahathir Mohammad berkunjung ke kediaman Presiden ke-7 RI, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) di Kota Solo, Jawa Tengah, Rabu (26/2/2025). Kedua tokoh ini selanjutnya melakukan pertemuan sekitar 1,5 jam.Mahathir Mohamad tiba di kediaman Jokowi sekitar pukul 12.00 wib. Kedatangan Mahathir dijemput langsung oleh Jokowi di Bandara Adi Soemarmo solo.
“Saya kagum, walaupun jumlah penduduk hampir 300 juta, tapi soal makanan masih cukup,” kata Mahathir Muhammad usai bertemu jokowi. Hal itu dinilai sebuah kejayaan yang boleh dibanggakan. Mahathir mengaku pertemuan dengan jokowi tak membicarakan politik.
Mengenai hubungan kedua negara saat ini, Mahathir menyebut bahwa perlu ditingkatkan. Dia banyak mendapati produk Indonesia mulai diimpor Malaysia. Produk itu sebelumnya diimpor negara lain. PAMR
