I Rest My Case Live at the General Conference
Imagine standing trial for murder without a lawyer. The odds of winning such a case would be slim. In the same way, when we stand before God the Father, we are guilty of sin and have no defense on our own. However, we are NOT alone. Jesus Christ stands as our advocate; He pleads our case.No matter the depth of our sin, Jesus steps in and offers His own blood as the payment for our transgressions. Through Jesus's sacrifice, our debts are fully paid. What a gift it is to be able to rest our case, knowing that Jesus has it handled.
As 1 John 2:1 and 2 reminds us,
My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.
