Even the Fulfilled and Assured tags on Amazon and Flipkart say nothing about whether a product is genuine.
At the same time, not every cheap thing is fake. Festival sales are real, and some people buy a first copy knowing exactly what it is. The problem begins when you pay full price for the original and still get the duplicate.
This is not about cheap shopping. It is about a system where a ₹500 crore racket runs in one city and a cough syrup with a brake fluid chemical reaches children in Chhindwara before anyone in charge acts.
