Israeli strike on Lebanon health center kills medical staff
Lebanon’s health ministry says an Israeli airstrike on a primary health care center in southern Lebanon has killed at least a dozen medical workers, including doctors, nurses, and paramedics.The strike hit the health facility in Bourj Kawa, where emergency teams were responding to ongoing attacks in the region. Authorities say at least one other medical worker was injured, and rescue operations are continuing.
Officials have condemned the strike as a violation of international law, highlighting the growing danger faced by emergency responders during the conflict.
Medical workers in Lebanon have repeatedly come under fire during previous conflicts with Israel and Hezbollah. According to officials, at least 18 medical staff have been killed since the start of the current war.
The latest attacks come amid dozens of Israeli strikes across southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley. Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem has warned that the conflict will be long and described it as an existential battle.
Meanwhile, Israel has expanded evacuation orders in southern Lebanon and continues to conduct airstrikes across multiple areas as fears grow that a wider ground offensive could follow.
