Una densa colonna di fumo nero, visibile a chilometri di distanza e accompagnata da un forte odore di bruciato, si è alzata nel tardo pomeriggio di ieri dalla discarica Ischia Frizzi di Vadena, a sud di Bolzano. L'incendio, divampato poco dopo le 17 di ieri (28 luglio), ha richiesto l'intervento dei vigili del fuoco del corpo permanente e dei volontari di San Giacomo, Laives e Vadena. Nessuna persona è rimasta ferita e non si sono registrati disagi né sull'Autostrada del Brennero né all'aeroporto. Secondo Eco Center, che gestisce l'impianto, le fiamme sarebbero state provocate dall'autocombustione di rifiuti ingombranti triturati, probabilmente contaminati da materiali chimici smaltiti in modo scorretto. «Il fumo sprigionato dall'incendio non è tossico», ha assicurato il presidente Dario Dal Medico, spiegando che l'edificio non è stato coinvolto e che la discarica potrà tornare regolarmente in funzione.
