Diketahui terdapat sekitar 800 jenazah bayi dan anak kecil di situs tersebut.
Dilansir dari Tribunnews, Rabu (17/7) kuburan ditemukan pada 2014 lalu oleh sejarawan amatir di bungker bekas pembuangan limbah.
Kemudian, alat berat ditempatkan di lokasi dekat taman bermain dalam kompleks perumahan.
Sebanyak 80 orang telah menyerahkan sampel DNA untuk identifikasi kerabat.
Penggalian dilakukan oleh Kantor Direktur Intervensi Resmi Irlandia (ODAIT) bekerja sama dengan ahli internasional.
Yang menjadi kendala dalam pencarian ini adalah pencampuran jenazah dan catatan arsip yang tidak lengkap.
Adapun rumah anak tersebut yang dulunya menampung wanita hamil di luar nikah yang dijauhi oleh publik.
Banyak dari mereka dipisahkan dari anaknya setelah melahirkan.
Kasus ini kembali memunculkan luka lama atas kejadian masa lalu negara Irlandia dengan seorang Ibu tunggal.
