Verse 11

O Bhava, Bhima, Shambhu, destroyer of the cities, of darkness and of ignorance, you grant all desired fruits to those who worship you.

O Shankara, I am your humble servant. You are the embodiment of the deepest experience and divine reality.

Verse 12

O destroyer of the pride of the cities and slayer of Andhaka, you are praised through countless Vedic teachings and hymns of Brahma.

O Shambhu, I take refuge in you. Carry me across the ocean of worldly existence.

Verse 13

Your two lotus feet are worshipped and praised by the highest teachings of the Vedas.

When devotees fix their pure vision upon those sacred feet, they transcend the cycle of birth and death.

Verse 14

By your boundless compassion, O Lord with the beautiful blue throat, I have entered the fierce battlefield as the wielder of the divine discus.

With your grace, I shall overcome the forces born of the conflict between the gods and demons.

Verse 15

I have arisen from your left side, O Ishana, while Daksha arose from your right side.

Rudra arose from your forehead for the cosmic function of dissolution.

Verse 16

Brahma arose from my lotus navel, while this Rudra arose from Brahma's forehead.

Thus, in this cosmic cycle, we have been appointed to creation, preservation and dissolution, while you remain the supreme Lord beyond these functions.

Verse 17

The Vedas continually seek to understand you, O Lord Shiva.

Yet those whose understanding is bound by the illusion of my Maya perceive you incompletely and attribute the workings of the universe to other causes.

Verse 18

O Bhava, Bharga, Maheshvara, Shambhu, whose supreme head shines with the radiance of the moon, I bow to your lotus feet.

You are the ocean of compassion, O Lord of the universe.

Verses 19–22

shining with the fire of the third eye
