Ci siamo soffermati in particolare sul negoziato relativo al prossimo bilancio pluriennale: Italia e Portogallo condividono la convinzione che il futuro quadro finanziario pluriennale debba essere all'altezza delle nuove sfide che l'Europa è chiamata ad affrontare, senza però mettere in discussione politiche che rappresentano da sempre il cuore del progetto europeo, e cito ovviamente la PAC e le politiche di coesione, che non sono dal nostro punto di vista retaggi del passato, ma i presupposti per la crescita, per la competitività e per l'autonomia strategica."
