A dangerous heavy truck
There is a desire to reduce the number of such stupid accidents. I'm not in favor of justifying big truck drivers. Their guilt is not disputed. I want to appeal to the drivers of passenger cars. To the irsanity. Instill the instinct of self -preservation. And, summarizing the opinions regarding this type of accident, I decided to divide the drivers into three categories. First category: I don't know anything and don't want to know about the blind spots of cars. The second category of drivers: I know that there are blind spots, especially in large cars. But this problem concerns heavy trucks, and I don't care about it. If they hit me, they will respond. And I will move where I want. Even in the blind spot. And why should I think about this topic? Let them put additional mirrors, proximity sensors. It's their problem, it doesn't concern me. And in general, they interfere with me on the road. The third category of drivers. Yes, I know about the blind spot. Yes, he will be to blame. But do I need it? I will drive the car either from behind or from the side in the viewing area of his mirror. Ideally, I should see him, the driver, through his mirror. Or 10 yards ahead of him. I will skip the most dangerous zone as soon as possible and in no case will I linger in this zone. This zone is when your shoulder is on the bumper line of the truck. That is, half of my car is in front of the truck. It is in this position relative to the truck that you cannot stay for a long time. And it would be better to leave this place as soon as possible. Before rebuilding, the truck driver usually looks twice. In the expectation that if someone was in the blind spot, then during the second quick glance, the interference can be seen. But if during this period of time you have not left the danger zone, then the driver of the truck believes that he has no one in front of the front bumper. Once again, I do not justify the drivers of heavy trucks. I'm just calling you to be reasonable. If you can prevent someone else's mistake, as a result of which you will suffer, then why not protect yourself from these troubles? Well, look. A concrete example. The black car is in the blind spot. Approximately the shoulder of the driver of the passenger car is on the bumper line of the garbage truck. The permitting traffic light lights up. Both cars start moving synchronously. The passenger car perfectly withstands the blind spot, does not try to leave it. Moreover, it shifts to the garbage truck. There's plenty of free space on the right. He can't jump out of the blind spot. Can't he move to the right? He does not control the position of the heavy truck. He moves as he pleases. Zero attention at all at the wheel, as well as the lack of scanning of the situation with a heavy truck. And most likely, ignorance of the danger of being near a large car, and the presence of a blind spot. Do you remember the classification of drivers that I applied at the beginning of the story? The first category of drivers. I don't know anything and don't want to know about blind spots. As a result, it's easiest to blame the garbage truck driver. But he didn't see you. But you had to see him. He's big. I say all this not to justify the drivers of heavy trucks, but to protect you personally. Think not only for yourself, but also for those who can cause you trouble. On the road, you need to cooperate, not prove your case. Anyone who has ever sat behind the wheel of a truck will change their opinion for the rest of their lives about what some comrades wrote in the comments, like this, for example. You position yourself as a professional driver. You carry loads on your personal truck. But in the flow on public roads, you meet with completely different drivers, and with amateurs, and with beginners and even, God forgive me, with women behind the wheel.Do you seriously want them to understand your occupational diseases with "blind spots"? If you can't safely change lanes on the road, don't work as a truck driver. Or here's another one. 8 mirrors each and they don't see anything. And here's what other viewers answer
My truck has 4 regular spherical mirrors on the right and 2 on the left. Additional ones will not improve my review, but will only dissipate attention. Believe me, I watch the mirrors very carefully. My truck is 7 years old, I bought it new. The condition is very good. It's a pity to scratch it on some hurried person. But if there is a chance of not noticing someone, then sooner or later it will happen. That's why I'm afraid. The next viewer comments
I can't agree with many people. A passenger car driver should be aware of blind spots and think where he is going. Orhereis a comment. One day the rock will fly out from under the wheels and they will stay away from the trucks. And this is enough to know about possible problems and not tempt fate. And someone wants to learn only from their mistakes. Receive SMS online on sms24.me
