Dalam unggahannya, Trump menuliskan bahwa Putin mulanya mengucapkan selamat ulang tahun kepadanya.
Namun yang poin penting dalam pembicaraan ini adalah pembahasan mengenai konflik Israel dan Iran.
Ajudan Presiden Rusia, Yuri Ushakov mengatakan, Putin merasa khawatir mengenai konflik ini dan mengutuk serangan militer Israel ke Iran.
Menurut Putin, konflik ini berisiko pada eskalasi di Timur Tengah.
Ushakov berujar, Trump dan Putin sepakat membuka peluang jalur negosiasi mengenai program nuklir Iran.
Sebelumnya, Putin juga telah menghubungi dua pemimpin negara yang bersitegang tersebut, yakni Perdana Menteri Israel Benjamin Netanyahu dan Presiden Iran Masoud Pezeshkian.
Kepada Pezeshkian, Putin mengutuk tindakan Israel yang telah melanggara Piagam PBB dan hukum internasional.
Sementara dalam panggilan telepon dengan Netanyahu, Putin menekankan pentingnya proses negosiasi dan upaya diplomasi berkaitan dengan program nuklir Iran.
Menanggapi telepon Putin, Pezeshkian menegaskan bahwa Iran tak akan menyerang Israel menggunakan nuklirnya.
