La Segunda Guerra Mundial terminó en 1945, pero Hiroo Onoda siguió combatiendo durante casi treinta años. Escondido en la selva de Filipinas, rechazó panfletos, fotografías familiares y mensajes de su propio gobierno porque estaba convencido de que todo era propaganda enemiga.En este vídeo conocerás la increíble y oscura historia del soldado japonés que permaneció en la isla de Lubang hasta 1974, esperando unas órdenes que nunca llegaban. Onoda había sido entrenado para sobrevivir, desconfiar de cualquier información y no rendirse bajo ninguna circunstancia. Aquellas enseñanzas lo mantuvieron con vida, pero también lo encerraron en una realidad que ya no existía.
Durante décadas vivió oculto, perdió a todos sus compañeros y atacó a campesinos y policías filipinos creyendo que seguían siendo enemigos de Japón. Ni siquiera las cartas de su familia consiguieron convencerlo. Para que abandonara las armas tuvieron que localizar al antiguo comandante que le había dado la misión treinta años antes.
Una historia sobre obediencia, fanatismo, supervivencia y las terribles consecuencias de negarse a aceptar la realidad.
