In this video, I discuss how Bitcoin Core devs, instead of fixing the inscriptions exploit, chose instead to change the definition of datacarriersize so that it wouldn't apply to inscriptions.

Ignoring Luke Dashjr's warnings and his inscriptions patch, Bitcoin Core devs are largely responsible for the UTXO set blowing out and 89% of Taproot outputs being dust.

So when they tell you in 2025 that they need to blow out OP_RETURN filters in order to prevent UTXO bloat, you should ask them why every single change they want to make to Bitcoin is always in the direction of more and more spam.
