«Quando c'è una sentenza di ergastolo e succedono delle cose di questo genere, la società ha fallito. Però per Sofia credo che fosse giusto avere giustizia. Mia figlia non c'è più, per noi il lutto prosegue e proseguirà per tutta la vita, ma credo che lei si meritasse giustizia e quindi che la sentenza sia giusta». A dirlo, parlando con i cronisti in Corte d'Assise a Bologna dopo la condanna all'ergastolo di Giampiero Gualandi, è Angela Querzè, madre di Sofia Stefani, uccisa da Gualandi con un colpo di pistola il 16 maggio 2024 nella sede del Comando della Polizia locale di Anzola.Dopo la lettura della sentenza, Querzè ha abbracciato la procuratrice aggiunta Lucia Russo, e successivamente, rispondendo alle domande dei giornalisti, ha dichiarato: «Penso che la manipolazione su Sofia ci sia stata, ed è stata davvero molto pesante, molto reiterata». La sentenza, aggiunge, «ha però fatto giustizia, ma ripeto, mi dispiace perché, quando la società fallisce in questo modo, la responsabilità è di tutti noi.
