Los granados, originarios de Asia Central y Occidental, han encontrado un hogar especial en Xi'an, sede en 2023 de la Cumbre China-Asia Central. Tras aquel encuentro, el presidente chino Xi Jinping plantó seis de ellos en el Centro Internacional de Convenciones de la ciudad de Xi'an junto con los líderes de Kazajistán, Kirguistán, Tayikistán, Turkmenistán y Uzbekistán como gesto de amistad.
