A Venezia il documentario di Sofia Coppola su Marc Jacobs
VENEZIA (ITALPRESS) - Presentato fuori concorso alla 82esima Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica di Venezia, Marc by Sofia, il documentario diretto da Sofia Coppola, offre uno sguardo intimo sullo stilista Marc Jacobs, amico di lunga data della regista.Coppola racconta di aver accettato il progetto con sorpresa e un po’ di timore: “Non avrei mai pensato di fare un documentario. Non è qualcosa che conosco e affrontare qualcosa di completamente nuovo è spaventoso. Quando mi hanno chiesto di fare un film su Marc, all’inizio ho pensato di non potercela fare: sarebbe stato troppo pressante, doveva venire bene perché è il mio amico e lo adoro”. Il film segue Jacobs durante le dodici settimane che precedono la presentazione della sua collezione primavera/estate 2024 a New York. Coppola sottolinea l’approccio personale e spontaneo adottato sul set: “Alcuni giorni venivo solo con la mia macchina da presa, e Mark e la sua squadra sono stati molto aperti. Volevo che fosse personale, ma anche bilanciato… volevo trasmettere un senso di amicizia, di un legame con un amico, senza limitarlo al mio punto di vista”.
La regista evidenzia anche l’esperienza di montaggio come momento creativo: “Unire tutte le ispirazioni e le referenze è stato molto divertente, anche senza avere uno script o uno storyboard… Sono felice che i miei produttori mi abbiano dato pieno supporto per trovare il mio percorso. È stata un’esperienza davvero fortunata”.
Marc by Sofia combina materiali d’archivio, momenti di vita quotidiana e riflessioni personali, offrendo al pubblico uno sguardo privilegiato sul processo creativo e sulla vita privata dello stilista. Jacobs ha definito il documentario una “lettera d’amore” al loro rapporto e al suo lavoro.
