Quatrième épisode. Ce qui avait commencé comme une rébellion coloniale redevient un conflit international, la France de Louis XVI ayant finalement choisi d’entrer officiellement en guerre aux côtés des Patriots.
En 1777, les Britanniques décident de mener deux campagnes simultanées : le général Jonh Burgoyne descend du Canada vers la ville d’Albany, où le général William Howe est censé le rejoindre depuis NewYork. Mais ce dernier préfère marcher sur Philadelphie, abandonnant Burgoyne à une avancée solitaire dont il ne mesurera les conséquences que trop tard : à Saratoga, le piège se referme et il capitule avec 6 000 hommes.Pendant ce temps, dans la vallée de la Mohawk, les six nations Haudenosaunee, qui s’étaient jusqu’alors tenues à l’écart du conflit, se voient forcées de choisir un camp, et de s’entretuer...
