Two boats carrying more than 500 people are feared to have capsized off Myanmar's coast in recent days, according to UN agencies. The vessels left conflict-hit Rakhine State in late June, carrying mostly Rohingya refugees seeking safety and a better future. Some passengers had also travelled from refugee camps in Bangladesh. The International Organisation for Migration and the UN refugee agency said preliminary information suggests both boats sank during the dangerous journey, highlighting the continuing risks faced by Rohingya attempting perilous sea crossings in search of protection.
