Auch die junge Jazz-Musikerin Deniz Benzetsel ist wütend: "Wir müssen als allererstes hier unsere Meinungsfreiheit zurückgewinnen", sagt sie, "eine freie Kunst gibt es nur ohne Zensur!“ Die Musikerin, die mit ihrer Band unter dem Namen Alaska auftritt, steht mit ihrer Meinung nicht allein da. Eine Jugendstudie des MAK Center for Social Research ergab in diesem Jahr, dass fast zwei Drittel der jungen Türken ans Auswandern denken. Der Studie zufolge sieht jeder zweite Befragte seine persönliche Perspektive pessimistisch. Die hohe Inflation und die schwächelnde Wirtschaft machen sich im Alltag negativ bemerkbar. Laut Umfragen schauen die jungen Türken vor allem in Richtung Europa. Die Türkei ist zwar offiziell noch EU-Beitrittskandidatin, doch Präsident Erdogan regiert inzwischen derart autoritär, dass dieses Perspektive inzwischen als völlig unrealistisch gilt.Kapitel:
