Epstein files: Ghislaine Maxwell has not asked for pardon, Trump says

President Donald Trump reiterated Monday during a news conference in Scotland that he does have the power to pardon Jeffrey Epstein's longtime accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell, but that he had not been asked for a pardon.

Trump, speaking alongside British Prime Minister Keir Starmer responded to a question on the topic by saying, "Well, I’m allowed to give her a pardon, but nobody’s approached me with it."

The comments come just days after US Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche conducted a two-day interview with Maxwell at the federal courthouse in Tallahassee, Florida, where she is serving out a 20 year sentence.

The House Oversight Committee has subpoenaed Maxwell, ordering her to testify before lawmakers on Monday, August 11.
