Un’ora e mezza di puro rock, di adrenalina e di movimento. Chi ancora sotto la Mole non li conosceva ieri sera (domenica 30 giugno) ha potuto toccare con mano: i Dogstar non sono solo belli - bassista della band è il noto attore canadese Keanu Reeves – ma sono anche, e soprattutto, bravi musicisti, capaci registrare il sold out in tutte le date italiane, inclusa quella che ieri li ha visti esibirsi a Torino nell’ambito del Sonic Park Stupinigi, la rassegna organizzata da Fondazione Reverse che per il secondo anno propone un’interessante anteprima cittadina in collaborazione con Ogr Torino. I Dogstar sono un progetto musicale nato nel 1991 da tre giovani amici (Reeves incluso) che suonano a lungo in un garage, che si sciolgono nel 2002, e che si riuniscono nel 2020 quando, complice il lungo periodo pandemico, decidono di mettere mano a nuovi pezzi, tanto da segnare un rientro ufficiale nel maggio 2023. a più di 20 anni dalla loro ultima esibizione. Oggi il gruppo è formato dall'attore Robert Mailhouse (batteria e cori), da Bret Domrose (chitarra e voce) e Keanu Reeves (basso e cori) tra le stelle più iconiche del panorama cinematografico internazionale e che ieri sera è apparso particolarmente in forma ed emozionato. Allergico allo star system e noto per la sua estrema riservatezza, non si è smentito nemmeno ieri sera. Probabilmente per non rischiare di oscurare la scena agli altri componenti del gruppo, infatti, è stato l’unico a non prendere mai il microfono in mano, neppure per salutare il pubblico esultante nei confronti del quale, però, non ha lesinato sorrisi e li gesto della mano sul cuore, ripetuto diverse volte, per ringraziare tutti i presenti. Memorabile, per chi c’era, resterà anche una cosa: la cover di «I wanna be sedated» dei Ramones suonata dai Dogstar poco prima di fine del concerto.
