i just got back from the philippines and… coming back to japan feels so weird. this is my first full day back in tokyo, and the culture shock hit harder than i expected!In this vlog, i go through a normal day in japan — i go grocery shopping, cook a filipino dish (monggo), head out to one of my favorite cafes (blue bottle in toyosu), walk around and go shopping, and end the day with dinner with my mom at t.y. harbor. but throughout the day, i couldn’t stop noticing how different everything feels after being overseas.
From how quiet and structured japan is, to the differences in people, food, fashion, driving, and everyday life… this is a real look at reverse culture shock and the contrast between japan and the philippines!
This is a day in my life in tokyo, but also an honest perspective on living in japan vs overseas. If you’ve ever traveled, moved countries, or experienced culture shock, you’ll probably relate.
