Brand bei Autohandel in Mannheim – Gebäude und zwölf Fahrzeuge zerstört
Mannheim: Am frühen Samstagmorgen kam es aus bislang ungeklärter Ursache zu einem Brand auf dem Gelände eines Autohandels in der Casterfeldstraße. Mehrere Zeugen meldeten das Feuer gegen 2:40 Uhr, woraufhin Feuerwehr, Polizei und Rettungsdienst mit einem Großaufgebot ausrückten.Beim Eintreffen der ersten Einsatzkräfte standen bereits mehrere Fahrzeuge sowie ein Werkstatt- und Gebäudebereich in Flammen. Nach bisherigen Erkenntnissen wurden mindestens zwölf abgestellte Pkw durch das Feuer beschädigt oder zerstört. Auch ein Gebäude auf dem Firmengelände wurde erheblich in Mitleidenschaft gezogen.
Der entstandene Sachschaden wird auf rund 500.000 Euro geschätzt. Verletzt wurde glücklicherweise niemand.
Während der Löscharbeiten musste die Casterfeldstraße in Fahrtrichtung Innenstadt zeitweise gesperrt werden. Größere Verkehrsbehinderungen blieben jedoch aus.
