Historischer Flug zum Mond: Rakete von Mission Artemis II gestartetDie Weltraummission Artemis 2 zur Umrundung des Mondes ist gestartet. Die Trägerrakete SLS mit der Orion-Raumkapsel und vier Astronauten hob am frühen Mittwochabend gegen 18.35 Uhr (Ortszeit) vom Weltraumbahnhof Kennedy Space Center im US-Bundesstaat Florida ab, wie eine Journalistin der Nachrichtenagentur AFP vor Ort berichtete. Mit der zehntägigen Mission will die US-Raumfahrtbehörde Nasa erstmals seit mehr als 50 Jahren wieder Menschen in die Nähe des Erdtrabanten bringen.
Eine Mondlandung ist bei Artemis 2 nicht vorgesehen. Die Nasa strebt eine Landung auf dem Mond für das Jahr 2028 an. Artemis 2 soll dafür die Voraussetzungen schaffen.
