Iran Fires Dozens of Missiles at Israel
Iran has launched another wave of retaliatory missile strikes against Israel as the conflict between the two countries continues to escalate.Air raid sirens sounded across parts of Israel on Friday as multiple missiles were fired toward central and southern areas of the country. Israeli defense systems intercepted several of the projectiles, but falling debris and shrapnel caused fires and damage in several locations.
Emergency services reported incidents in cities including Lod and areas in the Negev desert, where projectiles struck near residential communities. Earlier attacks also caused damage near Ben Gurion Airport, while a residential building fire forced dozens of people to evacuate.
The latest barrage is part of a continuing series of Iranian strikes that have taken place over the past weeks. At the same time, Israel is also dealing with a second front along its northern border, where fighting with Hezbollah in southern Lebanon is intensifying.
Israeli officials say the ground offensive in Lebanon could expand further, while analysts warn the conflict may continue for weeks or even months.
