Kahan Byomkesh, Kahan Naagin: Who KILLED Indian TV?

Kahan Byomkesh, Kahan Naagin: Who destroyed Indian TV?

Everyone thinks Indian TV serials got silly because audiences got silly. But the real issue is a system that stopped caring whether a story was good, as long as you did not change the channel.

The same TV that gave us Byomkesh Bakshi, Malgudi Days and Office Office now runs naagins, scooter rides to the moon and endless saas-bahu fights. Shows once adapted great literature and launched directors like Anurag Kashyap. Today most serials are written around ad breaks and shot two or three days before they air.

At the same time, the audience has not disappeared. It has changed. The youth left for OTT and reels, and channels rebuilt their content for the safest, most traditional viewer. Ekta Kapoor says progressive shows flopped and Naagin worked, and the numbers back her up.

In this video, we break down how Indian TV went from its golden era to this, and why the current system will not let it come back. This is not about bad actors or cheap VFX. It is about a TRP machine that rewards shock over story.
