SIDOARJO, KOMPAS.TV - Kepala Basarnas Marsekal Madya Mohammad Syafii mengungkapkan alasan mengapa alat berat belum digunakan dalam proses penyelamatan korban bangunan Ponpes Al-Khoziny di Sidoarjo, Jawa TImur.Syafii mengatakan untuk menyelamatkan korban dalam kondisi selamat, penggunaan alat berat belum dimungkinkan lantaran potensi getaran yang dapat mengubah struktur bangunan.
"Saya sampaikan tentunya operasi ini disesuaikan dengan tantangan yang dihadapi. Saat ini, misalkan alat berat sudah stand by semuanya karena dari pemerintah daerah, dari potensi yang ada semaksimal mungkin menampilkan potensinya. tapi, pada saat kita masih mengejar untuk mampu menyelamatkan dalam kondisi hidup tidak mungkin alat berat itu kita gunakan karena pada saat alat berat ini kita operasikan tentunya pasti akan menimbulkan getaran, tekanan yang memungkinkan mengubah struktur," ujar Syafii ditemui di lokasi kejadian, Rabu (1/10/2025).
