Direktur Utama PT KAI Commuter, Asdo Artriviyanto menerangkan, KRL buatan CRRC Cingtao Sifang, Tiongkok ini, tiba di Indonesia pada 31 Januari 2025, setelah sebelumnya dilakukan penandatanganan kontrak pengadaan pada 31 Januari 2024.
Selama satu tahun, KRL ini telah melalui serangkaian proses penting, mulai dari uji parameter, pengaturan sistem, hingga uji ketahanan sejauh minimal 4.000 kilometer, sesuai ketentuan Kementerian Perhubungan.
Asdo menjelaskan, satu rangkaian KRL CLI-125 terdiri dari 12 kereta atau formasi SF12, dengan total kapasitas angkut mencapai 3.400 penumpang per perjalanan.
