Indonesia's anti-graft court has sentenced Gojek co-founder and former education minister Nadiem Anwar Makarim to 10 years in prison after finding him guilty in a high-profile corruption case. Prosecutors said he pushed the purchase of Google Chromebooks for schools during the COVID-19 pandemic while Google was considering an investment in Gojek's parent company. The court also ordered him to repay 809 billion rupiah (about US$45.2 million) and imposed a 1 billion rupiah (about US$55,900) fine.
