Sabu tersebut didapatkan dari luar negeri yakni Iran, China, dan Malaysia.
Jelang HUT Ke-80 RI, Direktorat Reserse Narkoba Polda Metro Jaya mengungkap peredaran narkotika jenis sabu jaringan internasional. Sebanyak tujuh orang ditetapkan sebagai tersangka atas kasus peredaran gelap narkotika. Ada yang berperan sebagai bandar pengendali dan juga kurir atau pengedar.
Tujuh orang tersangka ini merupakan jaringan internasional dengan bukti kurang lebih setengah ton atau 516 kilogram sabu senilai Rp516 miliar.
Pengungkapan ini diawali pada bulan Juli 2025 berdasarkan informasi masyarakat adanya peredaran gelap narkoba sindikat jaringan ES (WNA) yang ditangkap sejak tahun 2004.
Polda Metro Jaya menangkap pelaku di Grogol kemudian setelah pengembangan penangkapan juga dilakukan di Jakarta Timur. Modus operandi para tersangka yakni sabu disembunyikan dalam kompartemen kendaraan yang didesain khusus dalam kendaraan pribadi. Kemudian barang bukti juga disembunyikan di jok motor.
