Російська армія намагається оточити великі міста в Донецькій області. Вона уже наблизилася впритул до Покровська. Декілька тижнів тому армії РФ вдалося прорватися крізь лінію оборони поблизу Добропілля, що за кілька десятків кілометрів від Покровська і наблизитися до самого міста. Поки ЗСУ стабілізують лінію фронту, російська армія обстрілює Добропілля ракетами, керованими авіабомбами та залітає туди FPV-дронами. У місті досі є електропостачання, однак відстунє водопостачання. Раніше жваве Добропілля, яке залишалося своєрідним хабом для військових та цивільних на шляху до Покровська, спорожніло, у ньому вкрай складно зустріти цивільних.
