Menurut Kuasa Hukum Briptu Rizka, Rossi, langkah ini diambil lantaran pihaknya merasa ada kejanggalan dalam penetapan status tersangka pembunuhan terhadap kliennya.
Akan tetapi, Rossi tidak merincikan bentuk kejanggalan tersebut kepada publik dengan alasan masih dalam proses persiapan.
Diketahui sebelumnya, Briptu Rizka ditetapkan tersangka setelah hasil gelar perkara yang dilakukan penyidik Polres Lombok Barat dan Polda NTB pada Jumat (19/9) sore.
Polisi juga sudah melakukan olah tempat kejadian perkara (TKP) yang melibatkan anjing pelacak hingga pemeriksaan saksi, sebelum adanya penetapan tersangka dalam kasus ini.
Namun meski sudah banyak tahap yang dilalui oleh pihak kepolisian untuk mengungkap kasus ini, kuasa hukum Briptu Rizka menilai penetapan tersangka masih ada kejanggalan.
Oleh karena itu, Rossi menyebut hingga saat ini ia dan tim tengah menyiapkan langkah hukum untuk menyikapi keputusan penyidik.
Termasuk dengan melakukan uji terhadap dasar penetapan Briptu Rizka sebagai tersangka pembunuhan.
Sementara itu dari pihak keluarga Brigadir Esko sebelumnya telah menuntut agar polisi menangkap tersangka kasus pembunuhan sadis ini.
Pihak keluarga bahkan mengancam akan melakukan aksi demonstrasi besar-besaran di Polres Lombok Barat jika hingga akhir pekan tak ada kejelasan dari kasus ini.
