Pelaku bernama Alvi Maulana alias AM (24), ternyata dulunya pernah bekerja sebagai seorang tukang jagal atau penyembelih hewan ternak seperti sapi atau kerbau.
AM disebut sudah menyelesaikan kuliahnya dalam beberapa waktu yang lalu.
Menurut keterangan pihak kepolisian, aksi pembunuhan tragis ini berawal ketika kekasih pelaku tak membukakan pintu kamar kos yang mereka tinggali bersama selama kurang lebih satu jam pada Minggu (31/8) dini hari.
Setelah pintu dibuka, terjadilah cekcok hebat antara pelaku dan korban hingga aksi pembunuhan pun terjadi.
Pelaku membunuh korban menggunakan pisau dapur yang di ambil dari atas kasur kamar kosnya.
Setelah korban dipastikan tewas, AM kemudian menyeret tubuh korban ke dalam kamar mandi untuk kemudian dimutalisi menjadi ratusan bagian.
Potongan-potongan itu lalu ia buang ke semak belukar di Jalan Raya Pacet-Cangar, Mojokerto, Jawa Timur pada Selasa (2/9), dan baru ditemukan pada Sabtu (6/9).
Sebelum aksi pembunuhan terjadi, pelaku mengungkap sudah lama kesal dengan gaya hidup korban yang hedon dan kerap menuntut.
Hal itu membuat pelaku kesal, dan amarah memuncak saat cekcok mulut dengan kekasihnya terjadi di malam itu.
Sehari selang penemuan potongan-potongan tubuh tersebut, pelaku ditangkap di kamar kosnya oleh polisi pada Minggu (7/9), sekira pukul 10.00 WIB.
Ia kemudian dikenakan Pasal 340 KUHP tentang pembunuhan berencana.
