Erdrutsch führte offenbar zu schwerem Zugunglück in Baden-Württemberg
Nahe Riedlingen im Landkreis Biberach sind am Sonntagabend um 18.10 Uhr mindestens zwei Waggons eines Regionalzuges entgleist. Dabei kamen nach Angaben der Polizei drei Menschen ums Leben. Insgesamt wurden demnach rund 41 Menschen verletzt, viele davon schwerverletzt.Nach den Rettungsarbeiten stehen nun die Ermittlungen zur Ursache im Fokus. Zum Unfallzeitpunkt herrschte Starkregen, sagte ein Sprecher der Polizei Ulm. „Wir gehen davon aus, dass mutmaßlich ein Abwasserschacht übergelaufen ist, das Wasser dann nach unten über die Böschung einen Erdrutsch verursacht hat.“ Der Erdrutsch sei dann auf die Gleise niedergegangen und habe wohl die Entgleisung verursacht. Die Ermittlungen seien aber noch nicht abgeschlossen.
