Силянки, дукачі, хрести, коралі, венеційки, ґердани, баламути ‒ улюблені нашийні прикраси українок із давніх часів. Їх жінки носили на свята і в будні. Але численними низками коралів, баламутів, перлів, пацьорків, вражали лише раз на весіллі. На щодень жінки одягали одну низку намиста.Наприкінці ХІХ – початку XX століть коралі коштували маєтку, двох-трьох корів або ж волів і не кожен міг собі дозволити таку розкіш на посаг для доньки.
Про українську традицію прикрас, які так любили і люблять українки розмова з етнологом, колекціонером, майстром народного мистецтва з вишивки Юрієм Мельничуком.
