A man with an assault-style rifle fired randomly at passing cars while walking down a busy road outside Boston, wounding two people, and was later wounded when a state trooper and a former Marine opened fire, police say.At least a dozen cars, including a state police cruiser were struck by gunfire, as panicked drivers ditched their vehicles or hid underneath them, according to prosecutors and state police.
Police say the gunman fired more than 60 rounds during the attack Monday in Cambridge, home to Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
