Incomunicado en El Salvador: la familia del venezolano Andry Hernández Romero exige su liberación

Han pasado más de cien días desde que el Gobierno de Trump implementó la decisión sin precedentes de trasladar a más de 230 inmigrantes a la tristemente célebre megaprisión CECOT de El Salvador. Los hombres fueron trasladados sin acceder al debido proceso en Estados Unidos. En Democracy Now! hablamos con los seres queridos de Andry Hernández Romero, un maquillador artístico gay de 33 años, quien había solicitado asilo político en Estados Unidos. Según su madre, le dijeron que lo enviarían a Venezuela, su país natal. En cambio, fue enviado al CECOT, prisión denunciada por cometer graves actos de tortura y abuso. Hablamos con su madre, Alexis Romero, y su mejor amiga, Reina Cárdenas, quienes no lo han visto ni han sabido nada de él en tres meses, pero lo pudieron identificar en fotos tomadas por un fotoperiodista en el CECOT. Hernández Romero “fue detenido en el momento en que se presentó a la cita para solicitar asilo”, señala Cárdenas. “Nunca tuvo acceso al debido proceso”, añade.
